  1. Role Overview The Engagement Specialist is a community-facing health outreach role responsible for engaging participants, clearly explaining precsion medicine concepts, and supporting verified sample (kit) collection across assigned regions in Alabama. This role sits at the intersection of health science and public engagement. Success requires both comfort with medical or scientific concepts and strong interpersonal communication skills.

  2. Core Responsibilities * Engage community members, employees, or participants in field-based settings * Clearly explain health, research, or precision medicine concepts to non-experts * Support and facilitate sample (kit) collection following program protocols * Accurately document collections and submit required reporting * Travel within the assigned region to support outreach and collection efforts Success in this role is measured primarily by verified kits collected.

  3. Preferred Backgrounds Strong candidates may come from: * Public health, health education, social work * Community health work or patient advocacy * Clinical research (CRC, CRA, research assistant) * Medical assisting (MA, CNA, EMT, etc.) * Biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device outreach * Nonprofit health programs or community-based health initiatives
