Machinery Sales Representative (Inside) | Amelia, OH

Express Employment Professionals Cincinnati East is now hiring a full-time Machinery Sales Representative to join a team in Amelia, OH.

Overview

The Machinery Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, establishing, and developing relationships with customers through a consultative approach. The Machinery Sales Representative works closely with customers to understand the need, and provide equipment, parts, and service solutions to fit each individual client need. This is an inside sales role designed for a candidate with strong mechanical and technical proficiencies, who is customer-focused and solutions-oriented. Customer needs are often custom; the ideal Sales Representative will have strong analytical skills and a creative, collaborative approach to understanding and addressing each customer’s unique need(s). Experience in the machine tool industry is preferred.

Core Responsibilities

  • Learn, understand, and apply product/equipment and service lines, including product/service capabilities and benefits
  • Respond with urgency to customer inquiries via phone and electronically.
  • Conduct sales-based activity including lead generation & follow up, prospecting, and appointment setting as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with Parts Sales to develop and expand customer accounts, with the goal of full-service.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals, with active follow up to negotiate and close sales.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers (request pricing, convey technical specifications, etc.)
  • Manage and work to develop existing customer relationships through introduction of new products or services.
  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical assistance and advice or recommendations.
  • Complete client satisfaction steps, such as post-sale communication to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns with urgency, provide and coordinate technical support as needed.
  • Maintain active and current knowledge of current parts inventory or projected timeline of ordering process.
  • Occasional travel to customers or suppliers (may be required for sales purposes, training, etc.)
  • Special projects and additional duties as required.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and understanding of general machine parts
  • Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred
  • E2 Shoptech software familiarity highly preferred (or ability to quickly learn/apply)
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, and ability to communicate clearly in written, verbal, and face to face settings
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Working computer proficiency, including internet navigation/research, file download/recall, and electronic communication
  • Ability to work independently to complete tasks in a timely matter
  • Ability to communicate with customer contacts in diverse roles (engineering, maintenance, purchasing, etc.)
  • Consistently excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and apply new information quickly and thoroughly
  • Ability to convey product features and benefits
  • Effective time management and work ethic

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent required. Additional Associates’ or Bachelors’ degree preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine industry environment
  • Ability to read blueprints strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to excel in customer service/sales
  • Experience interacting with manufacturing customers and knowledge of production processes
  • Familiarity with general office procedures, practices, and equipment
  • Prior experience in a machinery or equipment sales and service role, applying mechanical and/or technical product knowledge
  • Knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn and explore metalworking machinery, tooling, and products through industry journals, trade shows, training, and self-study
  • Ability to work productively in a small ONSITE office environment, both independently and collaboratively.
    This is NOT a remote or hybrid role.

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $20+/hr, based on experience
