Are you passionate about functional design and working closely with customers to bring critical vehicles to life? We’re looking for a Detail-Oriented Emergency Vehicle Layout Designer to join our team in creating safe, efficient, and fully customized fire and emergency vehicle compartment layouts.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate directly with customers, Customer Account Specialists, engineers, and installers to design vehicle layouts that maximize equipment storage, safety, and functionality.
- Lead pre-construction meetings to gather specifications and equipment requirements.
- Create accurate and visually clear layout sketches used for estimating costs, build times, and customer approval.
- Translate customer requirements into custom equipment mounting designs that meet industry standards.
- Work cross-functionally with departments including engineering, fabrication, assembly, and sales to ensure designs are executed as planned.
- Maintain strong communication and relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in vehicle layout design, mechanical design, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling or CAD software (preferred).
- Ability to interpret customer needs and translate them into functional, attractive layouts.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of fire & emergency vehicle components or equipment mounting is a plus.
