Primary Responsibilities
- Perform internal and external inspections of weldments on work-in-progress and completed jobs
- Ensure welds meet AWS codes, contract requirements, and quality standards
- Read and interpret welding drawings, symbols, and specifications
- Compile and document inspection results, including acceptance or rejection of weld quality
- Recommend and approve weld repairs during inspection processes
- Maintain records of welder qualifications, WPS certifications, and testing documentation
- Support training and certification of production welders and assist in process improvements
- Stop weld operations that do not comply with applicable codes and specifications
- Adhere to all quality and safety procedures and company standards
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification issued by AWS
- Minimum of 5+ years of welding and inspection experience or equivalent training
- Strong knowledge of AWS codes and welding standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
- AWS endorsements (D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6) preferred
- Must maintain and renew AWS certification
Compensation
$30+/hr (Based on Experience, Benefit Package Available Upon Hire)
Schedule
1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00am–2:30pm
Overtime available as needed
