We have been asked by a client in Indianapolis, IN (nationwide remote coverage) to help them find a Guardian. In this role you will support and oversee remote legal depositions by preparing case materials, managing live proceedings, assisting participants, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring accurate, finalized transcripts are delivered in a timely manner.
Compensation, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay: $18–$20/hour (training also paid)
- Schedule: On-call, part-time hours (Monday–Friday for live proceedings; deposition length can vary and run up to ~7 hours)
- Training: Paid training over a couple of weeks, including mock demos and readiness assessment
- Work Style: Remote (nationwide coverage)
- Additional: Flexible scheduling based on deposition volume; opportunity to build hours as demand grows
What will do you as a Guardian?
- Review case materials and research terminology ahead of depositions
- Host and manage remote legal proceedings via Zoom or similar platforms
- Welcome participants and provide a professional, supportive experience
- Troubleshoot technical issues in real time to keep proceedings running smoothly
- Monitor live depositions carefully and step in when needed
- Share and manage exhibits at attorneys’ direction
- Follow structured scripts and workflows for managing proceedings
- Confirm orders with attorneys at the conclusion of each deposition
- Review, proofread, and finalize transcripts (speech-to-text generated)
- Certify transcripts and audio files, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Upload completed files to the appropriate platform within required timelines
What qualifications will you have as a Guardian?
- Strong technical proficiency, especially with Zoom or video conferencing tools
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong proofreading ability
- Ability to remain composed and professional in live, high-attention settings
- Comfortable working in an on-call, variable schedule environment
- Experience in legal support, court reporting, or similar is a plus (not required)
- Notary Public commission is a plus
- Ability to follow structured processes and scripts consistently
- Professional presentation and demeanor when interacting with legal professionals
- Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to quickly troubleshoot issues
