We have been asked by a client in Noblesville, IN to help them find an Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will support a high-volume accounting department by accurately entering invoices, coding them to appropriate jobs and cost codes, and maintaining organized records in a deadline-driven environment. 2+ years of data entry or accounts payable experience in a high-volume residential or light commercial construction environment or a project-based industry is highly desired.

Pay, Hours & Benefits:

  • Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Type: Contract-to-hire opportunity
  • Hours: Full-time, office-based role

What will you do as an Accounts Payable Specialist?

  • Accurately enter 100+ invoices per week into the accounting system
  • Match invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, and job site delivery tickets
  • Ensure all invoices are coded to the correct job, phase, and cost code
  • Process and track subcontractor and vendor invoices for multiple jobs simultaneously
  • Monitor vendor terms and ensure timely payment processing
  • Assist in managing compliance documentation, including W-9s, insurance certificates, and lien waivers
  • Maintain organized and accurate AP records both digitally and physically
  • Communicate with project managers, field staff, and vendors to resolve discrepancies
  • Support monthly close processes by entering all invoices before cutoff deadlines
  • Perform other AP and clerical duties as assigned by the accounting team

What qualifications will you have as an Accounts Payable Specialist?

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or accounting coursework preferred
  • 2+ years of data entry or accounts payable experience in a high-volume residential or light commercial construction environment or project-based industry is highly desired
  • Proficient in accounting systems (QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft software
  • Excellent typing and 10-key data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting and multi-job coding
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
