Location: Birmingham, AL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, On-Call Rotation Required
Pay: $23/hour

A Birmingham-based Commercial Real Estate Company is seeking a full-time Commercial Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and preventative maintenance of properties across our management portfolio. This role plays a key part in preserving and enhancing the value, safety, and appearance of our clients’ real estate assets.

** Key Responsibilities**

• Perform general repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of commercial buildings
• Conduct routine property inspections to ensure vendor work quality, identify repair needs, and maintain clean, safe environments
• Report any issues or deficiencies to the property manager and maintenance coordinator
• Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for facilities and equipment
• Submit detailed monthly property inspection reports
• Assist in gathering contractor bids and repair cost estimates
• Communicate daily with property management team to provide updates and receive assignments
• Respond promptly and professionally to tenant requests via the Skyline Work Order System
• Serve in after-hours on-call rotation for emergency maintenance needs
• Interact courteously with tenants, clients, and contractors
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold industry safety and quality standards
• Perform duties including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general building repairs

** Requirements**

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3–5+ years of commercial property maintenance experience
• HVAC systems knowledge required
• Strong understanding of tools, equipment, and materials used in building and grounds maintenance
• Skilled in basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (subject to periodic checks)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with email and computer systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, professional, and safety-minded
