CNC Machinist

Location: Bessemer, AL
Pay: $25.00+ per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a small, family-owned machine shop in Bessemer, AL. This is a great opportunity for someone who can confidently set up, load, and operate CNC lathes and mills in an independent shop environment.

The shop offers a 4-day workweek, an air-conditioned work environment, and a monthly bonus program.

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up, load, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
• Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and production standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot machining, quality, and equipment performance issues.
• Ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances.

Requirements:

• Previous CNC machining experience required.
• Hands-on experience setting up and loading both CNC lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and reliably in a machine shop environment.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Preferred Experience:

• CNC programming experience.
• Experience with Mastercam.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls/software (used on CNC lathes).
