Job Summary:

This is a highly responsible Leasing Consultant position responsible for the processing and
maintenance of all HUD paperwork as outlined below, as well as performing the
purchasing functions of the Authority. Accurate reporting and record keeping for regulatory
agencies is an extremely important responsibility of this position.
Work requires initiative and independent judgment. Confidentiality and discretion are
essential in this position.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Process HUD paperwork for all residential facilities including housing applications, monthly billings, recertifications, budgets, tenant files, and other reports as required.
  • Serves as liaison among staff, clients/client payees, owners, project Board Members, auditors, and HUD with regard to preparation of required reports, maintaining bank accounts, client billing, and other information exchange.
  • Responsible for fixed asset acquisition and disposals in accordance with state contracts and Alabama Bid Law requirements.
  • Conducts special projects/assignments including other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in business or a related field or six (6) years experience in property management, Public Housing or a related field.
  • Complete knowledge of Department of Housing & Urban Development maintenance processes, procedures and requirements as relates to public housing.
  • Complete knowledge of Department of Housing & Urban Development paperwork requirements as relates public subsidized housing billing and tenant files.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and establish a working relationship with clients, staff, vendors, and other agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting and maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance practices preferred.
  • Certification in property management preferred.
  • Current knowledge of the specifics of the Alabama Bid Law preferred.
  • Project Based Housing-affordable housing (NOT section 8)
  • Must have experience with RealPage Onesite.
  • A basic understanding of HUD.

Schedule & Pay:

FULL TIME; Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:00pm 
$20/hr
