We have been asked by a Manufacturing client in Westfield, IN to help them find a Material Handler with Forklift and Reach Truck experience. In this role, you will be responsible for handling, moving, and preparing materials for shipment using powered industrial equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Pay, Hours, and Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour, depending on experience
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
What will you do as a Material Handler with Forklift and Reach Truck experience?
- Operate stand-up reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and other warehouse equipment to move, load, and unload materials.
- Use RF scanners, barcode readers, and warehouse computer systems to complete shipping transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare outbound shipments, including staging, labeling, documentation, and verifying materials against shipping requirements.
- Maintain shipping logs, organize shipping materials, and support tracking and performance accuracy.
- Communicate with internal teams to support on-time shipments and resolve any issues with materials or documentation.
- Keep shipping and warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Follow all company safety protocols, including the required use of PPE.
- Lift 40 lbs. constantly, 60 lbs. occasionally, and perform team lifts for heavier items as needed.
Qualifications
What qualifications will you have as a Material Handler with Forklift and Reach Truck experience?
- Experience in a shipping or warehouse environment (required).
- Eligibility to pass a BAFTE background check for working with pyrotechnics.
- Proficient operating both stand-up reach trucks and sit-down forklifts (certification preferred).
- Skilled in using RF scanners, warehouse computers, and basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, pulling, and repetitive movement throughout the day.
