Location: Birmingham, AL Industry: Electrical / Prefabricated Building Systems Schedule: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Revit Operator/Designer to join a manufacturer specializing in prefabricated electrical substation control buildings and communication shelters. This position will work closely with engineers and other departments to create accurate Revit drawings, 3D models, and technical design packages.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage Revit drawings, 3D models, details, and families
  • Develop electrical and MEP designs from engineer redlines, specifications, and project requirements
  • Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other MEP systems within Revit
  • Work closely with engineers and other departments to ensure designs meet project specifications and company standards
  • Revise models and drawings as project requirements change
  • Create and maintain organized BIM and CAD files
  • Perform quality-control checks for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical detail drawings
  • Meet project submittal deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy

Requirements

  • College degree with 2+ years of relevant design experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, particularly 3D modeling and Revit families
  • Experience with industrial/commercial electrical design
  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems supporting protective relay and/or communications equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, redlines, project specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience

  • 4+ years of engineering/design experience
  • Electrical Journeyman certification
  • Hands-on electrical experience
  • Knowledge of protective relaying schematics
  • Previous control building, electrical substation, or communication shelter design experience

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand English for training and safety purposes
  • PPE may be required, including steel-toe or EH-rated composite-toe footwear
  • May operate forklifts, MEWPs, or other equipment after proper training
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed

Ideal candidates will combine strong Revit skills with a practical understanding of electrical systems and be comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing environment.
