Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator

Pay: $29.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Mining / Aggregate / Heavy Equipment

We are seeking a dependable Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator to join a mining and aggregate operation. This position involves operating heavy equipment, including large off-road rock trucks, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate off-road rock trucks and other heavy equipment
• Transport stone, mud, dirt, and other materials between locations on the property
• Operate large rock trucks with capacities of up to approximately 60 tons
• Perform daily safety inspections of assigned trucks and equipment
• Complete required daily equipment reports
• Safely operate equipment over rough roads and uneven terrain
• Observe the work area, roadways, and surroundings for hazards and obstructions
• Communicate effectively with coworkers while equipment is operating
• Climb ladders attached to truck cabs as needed for entry and exit
• Assist with other duties throughout the facility when equipment is idle or out of service
• Assist with operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment or plant operations as needed
• Follow all company, mine-site, and MSHA safety requirements

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Sit for extended periods while operating equipment
• Walk, climb, bend, twist, reach, and turn as required
• Climb equipment ladders
• Regularly lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
• Work safely around moving equipment and active plant operations
• Maintain awareness of visual and audible safety signals

Work Environment

This position is primarily outdoors in an active mining/aggregate environment. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, welding gases, fuel fumes, varying weather conditions, and seasonal temperature extremes. Some equipment may have enclosed or air-conditioned cabs.

Qualifications

• Previous truck driving or heavy equipment operating experience preferred
• Experience operating off-road haul trucks, rock trucks, or similar equipment is a plus
• Ability to work safely around heavy machinery
• Ability to complete routine equipment inspections
• Dependable attendance and strong safety awareness
• Willingness to perform additional duties as needed

Pay: $29.00/hour
