Quality Control Assistant – Microbiology Support
📍 Location: On-site
🕒 Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
💲 Pay: $19/hour
📅 Note: Occasional short weekend visits required (30–60 minutes) to check incubated samples.
Are you detail-oriented, curious about microbiology, and looking for a hands-on role in a clean, highly controlled environment? We’re hiring a Quality Control Assistant to help with microbiology testing and product labeling in a healthcare-focused setting.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some biology experience (even a class in college!) who thrives on organization, follows instructions well, and understands the importance of cleanliness in a lab or healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Microbiology Support
- Collect environmental samples from production rooms to test for microbial growth.
- Incubate and monitor samples using lab equipment.
- Identify different microbial growths using basic tools (e.g., magnifying glass, visual inspection).
- Circle and document unique growths, pack samples, and send to a third-party lab.
- Track and manage paperwork through the full testing process.
Product Receiving & Labeling
- Unbox received materials and complete basic documentation.
- Apply approval stickers and store materials in proper locations.
- Operate specialized label printing software (training provided).
- Ensure labels are accurate (correct dosage, product information, etc.).
- Monitor and track printed labels; ensure proper storage.
Cleanroom Environment
- Work in a sterile, controlled setting — similar to prepping for a medical procedure (not as extreme, but attention to cleanliness is critical).
- Gown properly and follow all hygiene protocols.
Who You Are
- Detail-oriented and highly organized — this is a must.
- Comfortable working in a clean, structured, and regulated environment.
- Some exposure to biology or microbiology (college course or lab experience is great!).
- Background in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or compounding is a plus but not required.
- Able to follow procedures exactly and take ownership of routine tasks.
“You don’t need to be a microbiologist — just someone who can follow steps and stay organized. A lot of this is teachable.”
Why This Role is Unique
- Stable Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional short weekend visits due to testing timelines.
- Clean, hands-on work in a regulated, meaningful industry.
- Team will train you on specialized equipment and procedures.
- Great for someone starting out in lab support, microbiology, or quality control.
Apply today if you're ready to join a team that values precision, cleanliness, and care in everything they do!
