Compost Facility Laborer - Full Time Position

$18.00/hour | Full-Time | Day Shift

Position Overview

Join our waste management and composting team as a Compost Facility Laborer. This hands-on role involves maintaining quality compost production through material sorting, equipment operation, and facility maintenance in an outdoor industrial environment.

Schedule & Compensation

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities

• Material Sorting & Quality Control: Hand-sort compost materials to remove non-organic items including plastic, metal, and other contaminants
• Equipment Operation: Operate rolling carts to transport materials throughout the facility
• Forklift Operations: Safely operate forklift equipment for material handling and facility operations (certification preferred)
• Facility Maintenance: Perform power washing of equipment and facility areas to maintain cleanliness standards
• Heavy Lifting: Regularly lift materials and equipment as part of daily operations
• Quality Assurance: Inspect compost materials to ensure product meets industry standards

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform physical labor including heavy lifting
• Comfortable working with organic waste materials and compost
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous forklift operation experience or certification
• Experience in waste management, recycling, or composting operations
• Power washing equipment experience
• Manufacturing or warehouse work background
