Job Title: Network Development Specialist

Job Summary:
A healthcare organization in Birmingham, AL is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Network Development Specialist to join their Provider Relations team. This role is responsible for developing and expanding the PPO network, conducting provider rate negotiations, assisting with orientations, and supporting clinical and business divisions. The ideal candidate will have experience in managed care or PPO environments, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:

  • Develop, expand, and maintain PPO network, including identifying new providers, soliciting participation, and negotiating rates.
  • Coordinate rate negotiations with leadership and adhere to established fee schedules.
  • Conduct provider orientations and training sessions, both individually and regionally.
  • Serve as liaison with treatment providers, clients, and patients, resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist Clinical, Accounting, and Marketing Divisions with provider connections and support for client contracts.
  • Maintain and recommend updates to corporate, departmental, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in marketing, research, and public relations efforts related to provider relations and network development.
  • Prepare reports, track provider rates, and provide recommendations on network enhancements.
  • Perform other related duties and attend meetings as requested.

Schedule & Pay

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Salary: $62,010 – $64,515 annually
  • Annual incentive based on experience and performance
  • On-site

Here’s What Makes YOU a Great Fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 3+ years of provider relations experience, preferably in PPO/HMO or managed care settings
  • Familiarity with mental health services, case management, and utilization review
  • Experience with rate negotiations, fiscal issues, and contractual terms
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable performing extensive telephone work and giving group presentations
  • Professional appearance, cooperative attitude, assertive, goal-oriented, and self-starter
  • Alabama driver’s license and dependable transportation, with ability to travel as needed
  • Experience with PC applications (Word, Access, Internet)
