About the Role
Join a leading defense and national security contractor as a Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical systems and components used in mission-critical defense applications. You’ll work hands-on with mechanical assemblies, thermal and structural analysis, manufacturing coordination, and system integration while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and support teams to ensure all products meet rigorous quality and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems, components, and assemblies
- Conduct thermal, structural, and vibration analysis to ensure reliability and performance
- Develop and maintain test equipment, prototypes, and documentation
- Coordinate with manufacturing and maintenance teams to ensure quality and compliance
- Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Prepare technical specifications for materials, parts, and equipment procurement
- Contribute to cross-functional projects, including integration with electronic and software systems
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with national security and defense standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, development, and analysis
- Proficiency with CAD and CAE tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or ANSYS
- Experience with technical computing tools such as MATLAB or MathCAD
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with project management and vendor/supplier oversight a plus
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Top Secret clearance
