Position Overview
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to enhance safety, Customer Quality, Right-First-Time Delivery, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves analyzing manufacturing and production workflows, troubleshooting issues, developing others’ capabilities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing operations (through clear plans that underpin the Site & Co strategy). This is a great foot-in-door opportunity for a recent grad with a background in Mechanical Engineering or similar to grow in the manufacturing field!
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Health, Safety & Quality:
- Ensure processes comply with industry OSHA regulations and company standards
- Document and train-out Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, and SOPs
- Partner with the QA team to improve product consistency and resolve non-conformances
- Conduct process validation and risk assessments
Core Manufacturing Processes:
- Responsible Person for CORE Manufacturing Processes, definition, and SOPs
- Design, evaluate, and continually improve manufacturing processes
- Analyze production workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Identify, specify, justify, and deliver capital investment projects
- Strategically embed Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing principles
Manufacturing Support:
- Provide technical support & training for production operatives & Team Leaders
- Provide product-technical and process-design support
- Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions
- Implement automation and digital tools to enhance data-capture & productivity
Equipment & Technology Management:
- Assist in the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment use
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure optimal equipment performance
Essential Skills/Experience Required
Technical Skills:
- Resolving & preventing OSHA risks/issues through GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Deep knowledge of engineering machine shops, machining processes, and equipment (including CNC)
- Manufacturing process design, optimization, and workplace design
- Time-in-motion studies, work/process balancing, and production flow
- Implementations of time/costings and efficiency KPIs
- Statistical analysis and reporting
- Fault-finding and root cause analysis methodology and resolution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Writing and training-out SOPs and training/user guides (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Medium-Sized Capital Investment project research, justification & delivery
- Designing & delivering training, plus daily coaching of others in GMP
- Ability to read, understand, and relay information from AutoCAD/Illustrator designs

Desirable Skills/Experience Required:

Education & Experience (Highly Desirable):
- 2–5 years’ experience in a similar role within an Engineering, Machining, & Assembly Shop
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

- Mon-Thurs, 7:00am-4:00pm, Fri 7:00am-2:00pm schedule
