Job Description: Service Manager

Salary: $90,000+ DOE Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm or similar Full Time, Exempt

Brief Description

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for optimizing operations and driving results? Our client is seeking a dedicated Service Manager to oversee its service branch and lead it to new heights. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing field productivity, managing schedules to maximize efficiency, and developing and implementing crane service budgets. You'll also focus on growing the crane inspection contract base while effectively managing costs. As a Service Manager, you will supervise and inspire the team to maintain high service standards and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Ensure service branch location meets company sales and budget objectives through field productivity, scheduling, maximizing billings, and controlling costs
  • Develop and implement crane service budgets
  • Proactively grow the service location’s crane inspection contract base as well as the repairs and upgrades resulting from inspections
  • Monitor and maintain an accurate and acceptable utilization rate of field technicians, keeping indirect time to a minimum
  • Determine staffing requirements based primarily on labor utilization rates
  • Supervise all department personnel
  • Assist with follow-up on active service and inspection repair quotes
  • Support Service Coordinator in reviewing/deciding which inspection customers and which items will be quoted
  • Contribute to sales initiatives, account sales, and provide technical expertise
  • Provide instruction and training to employees as required
  • Ensure all personnel comply with safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines
  • Oversee the accomplishment of all contracted service work while maintaining company goals to ensure long-term profitable relationships
  • Provide sales support to maintain and grow existing customer relationships and gain new customers
  • Monitor employee and technician work time for payroll
  • Complete performance reviews and manage employee development
  • Authorize all expenditures handled directly by the service department
  • Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and general upkeep of the branch
  • Ensure team members maintain vehicles, equipment, storage, and work areas used in the field and shop
  • Assist Service Writers in understanding completed inspection reports to formulate quotes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education

  • High school diploma, vocational-technical school, equivalent military experience, or technical college training program preferred

Experience & Skills

  • 4+ years of experience in an administrative, customer service, or technical environment
  • Expert knowledge of the crane service industry
  • Strong time-management and decision-making skills
  • Effective strategic management and planning abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to delegate and divide tasks into subtasks
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify
