Downstream Technician – Rotating 12-Hour Shifts

Schedule: All Shifts Available | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts
Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Downstream Technician to support manufacturing and packaging operations. In this role, you will operate downstream and box maker equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality packaging of finished products. You will work closely with Group Leaders, Shift Leaders, Production, and Quality teams in a fast-paced production environment.
This position is ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude, manufacturing experience, or a strong interest in equipment operation and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated downstream equipment including case packers, box makers, conveyors, and labeling systems
- Perform routine cleaning, inspections, and basic maintenance on equipment
- Follow product orders, material requirements, and customer specifications
- Conduct quality checks to ensure packaging, labeling, and transitions meet standards
- Document production data, scrap, and corrugate losses
- Support department goals related to safety, quality, reliability, and scrap reduction
- Complete required production reports and documentation accurately and on time
- Follow all BOS, SAP, GMP, and safety policies
- Maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation standards
- Attend required training sessions and team meetings
- Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and Leadership teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, production, or mechanical experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to perform basic equipment maintenance
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for the duration of a 12-hour shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and reliability
