Job Title: Manual Machinist
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 / Hr
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will set up and operate manual machines—including lathes, mills, and surface grinders—to produce precision components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and skilled in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and surface grinders
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Select proper tools, speeds, and feeds for various machining operations
- Perform layout, cutting, drilling, threading, facing, and finishing tasks
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area following all safety procedures
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to meet production deadlines
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
- 2+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, materials, and safety practices
- Proficient in blueprint reading and the use of measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
