Job Title: Assistant Accounting Manager
Salary: $63,500
Shift: M-F 7:30AM-4:00PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities. This role is 100% onsite and requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to project future financial performance and provide strategic insights.
- Generate financial reports for management to assess company finances and operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain accurate accounting records, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded properly.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, comparing actual costs to budgeted projections.
- Implement, modify, and document accounting systems using the latest financial software and technology.
- Prepare training materials and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping staff while overseeing their work.
- Identify accounting needs and develop solutions to financial challenges within the organization.
- Advise management on resource utilization, tax strategies, and budget forecast assumptions.
- Conduct biannual financial reviews (mid-year and year-end).
- Update customer pricing and evaluate financial impacts annually.
- Manage relationships with banking and financial partners.
- Perform other accounting-related duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience is a plus).
- CPA certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex financial matters.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work Environment & Conditions:
- This position is 100% onsite with no remote work options.
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Office environment with moderate noise levels; occasional visits to the manufacturing facility where hearing protection may be required.
