Job Title: Plumber - Pipefitter
Shift: Full-Time | Day Shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs.
Salary: $22 – $40/hour, depending on experience and certifications
Responsibilities
As a Plumber / Pipefitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water supply, and drainage systems in accordance with local plumbing codes and project specifications.
Key duties include:
- Study blueprints, building plans, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
- Inspect building structures to identify obstructions and prevent damage during pipe installation
- Mark pipe routes and connection points using measuring tools such as rulers, levels, and plumb bobs
- Cut openings in walls and floors for piping using hand and power tools
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to specific angles using pipe cutters, threading machines, and benders
- Assemble and install pipes, valves, and fittings made from materials such as steel, copper, PVC, and brass
- Join pipe sections using soldering, threading, caulking, welding, and bonding techniques
- Fill piping systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to detect leaks
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, and water softeners
- Perform welding when necessary to secure piping or support structures
- Follow all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
- Complete additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or project manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a plumber or pipefitter in a commercial, industrial, or construction setting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools
- Familiarity with plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and job site safety procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Trade school certification or apprenticeship completion is a plus
- Welding certification preferred but not required
