Pay: $25+ per hour, based on experience Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM Overtime: Available Job Type: Full-Time Travel: Local/regional travel required- Office in Downtown Birmingham
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sprinkler Technician to perform inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of fire sprinkler and related fire protection systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with sprinkler systems, backflow prevention, inspections, and service work, along with the ability to travel to customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and scheduled fire sprinkler system inspections, testing, and maintenance
- Inspect, test, and service backflow prevention devices
- Troubleshoot sprinkler system issues and identify necessary repairs
- Perform repairs, adjustments, replacements, and preventative maintenance on sprinkler systems and components
- Test valves, alarms, pumps, gauges, and other fire protection equipment
- Complete inspection and service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Identify deficiencies and communicate recommended repairs to customers and management
- Read and interpret system plans, drawings, and specifications as needed
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
- Travel to various customer and job sites throughout the service area
- Provide professional customer service while working on-site
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with fire sprinkler systems, fire protection equipment, or related mechanical systems
- Experience with backflow testing/inspection strongly preferred
- Knowledge of sprinkler system components, valves, piping, and controls
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform mechanical repairs
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple service calls
- Ability to read basic blueprints, plans, and system drawings
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability and willingness to travel to different job sites
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials
- Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated positions
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, warehouses, construction sites, and outdoor environments
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the workday
Compensation & Schedule
$25+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM** Overtime available**
