A respected construction and engineering organization in Hawaiʻi is hiring a Project Inspector to support active job sites by conducting inspections, verifying compliance with project specifications, and ensuring construction work meets required codes and industry standards. This role works closely with project teams to help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced construction professional who enjoys field work, reading plans, documenting progress, and being part of major development projects across the island.

Your Contribution & Impact

Project Inspections:

  • Conduct inspections and verify work meets project specifications and quality standards.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure construction activities follow plans, schedules, permits, and bid documents.

Field Observation & Testing:

  • Perform construction observation and assist with testing of construction activities as required.

Plan Review:

  • Read, interpret, and confirm work based on construction plans and technical specifications.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Work closely with project teams and communicate inspection results clearly and professionally.

Reporting:

  • Document progress, issues, and compliance findings using digital tools and reporting systems.

Attributes for Success

  • High School Diploma required (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
  • 5–10 years of construction and/or inspection experience preferred
  • ICC, ACI, or similar certifications preferred (required for special inspections)
  • Strong understanding of building codes and construction methods
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe)
  • Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Suite, iPads, and digital cameras
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and active job sites
